Kitale is a border town to Uganda located in western Kenya. Its soil is rich and the climate is ideal for agriculture and the region around Kitale is known as the “breadbasket” of Kenya. I traveled with the District superintendent to our church in Kitale to train Sunday School teachers. The enthusiasm and eager participation of those
who attended made up for the disappointing turn-out. One of the S.S. teachers testified that what she was learning about children would make her also a better parent. Participants were struck by the importance of ministry to children when Jesus stressed the serious nature of welcoming children and the dire consequences when they are not welcomed.
