Almost 3 years ago, violence broke out across Kenya because of what many considered a rigged poll in the 2007 election. Until now, there has been no investigation to find those responsible for the death of over 1000 people and for thousands of displaced persons (some still living in camps). Today, prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, from the International Criminal Court in the Hague, has announced 6 suspects that should be issued summons to the ICC. Among these are the deputy prime minister, several members of parliament, a radio station announcer and the former chief of police (at the time of the violence). Until now there has been a lot of speculation and even efforts to derail the process. Pray that Kenya will remain calm now that these names have been made public and that the Kenyan government would used wisdom as it moves to the next step.
